Anja Lachenmayer is currently working on different research projects in the field of hepatocellular cancer and miniminal-invasive treatments of liver malignancies using stereotactic computer-assisted navigation systems. A project supported by the Swiss Transplant Cohort Study (STCS) is supporting a Genome-wide association study (GWAS) of single nucleotide polymorphisms in patients with recurrent hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) after liver transplantation. In addition, she is currently conducting a feasibility study of ultrasound-based navigation for non-anatomical liver resections in humans and preparing a large prospective grant analyzing the use of a novel 3D ablation planning and control software in stereotactic microwave ablation of liver tumors.
